A Three-Fold Blessing
On the 29th of August an exciting event occurred in our church: three of our young people made the decision to enter into a covenant with Jesus Christ. They were Nazar Dzivulskiy, Cornelia Derkach and Nastya Lutsikiv.
The baptisms took place at a small lake about 35 kilometers from Ternopil, in a very picturesque setting in the village of Vertelka, which is in the Zbrorivskiy region. A number of family and members of the church traveled to congratulate our new spiritual brothers and sisters.
Each of these three young people has a unique path by which they came to the moment of receiving Jesus as their Savior:
Nazar, while attending services regularly, did not personally take part in church activities nor in spiritual fellowship, but after the sudden death of his father, Volodymyr, his view of life completely changed. At the start of the summer he expressed his desire to receive Jesus Christ into his heart. He currently is completing his education at the College of Commercial Business.
Cornelia, who currently is in her final year of high school, has also attended services regularly from early childhood as a part of the family of Ihor Derkach, one of our long-time spiritual leaders, and his wife, Tayisa; and this spiritual fruit has been borne. However, even without these considerations, her decision was a great and pleasant surprise for many members of the church.
Nastya, like her older sister Sophia, has a great love toward the church and God’s children, and was led to Christ by her grandmother, Lyudmyla Petrivna Tretyak. She has always been very active in church ministries: first as a participant with the children, and now as a teacher. Nastya has also been gifted with a beautiful singing voice. She currently is preparing to study at the National Transportation University in Kiev.
We request prayers for these three in their spiritual lives, for much-needed support and strength in God in this difficult world, and that they would be true light for it, as the Lord Jesus desires for each of us. Praise to Him, our Living Father God, the Son and the Holy Spirit, forever and always. Amen!
